Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026.
This policy explains what information is handled when you visit thebeautysensation.com, contact us or follow a link from the site. The short version is that the site has no analytics, display ads, accounts, comments, newsletter or online sales. The main personal information we receive is what you choose to send us, and request data is processed by Cloudflare so the site can be served and protected.
Who we are and what this policy covers
The Beauty Sensation is run by the site’s owner, who is not named publicly. In this policy, we, us and our refer to that owner and operator. The site does not publish a company name, street address or telephone number, and the way to reach us about privacy is by email at [email protected]. This policy takes effect on the date shown at the top of this page. It covers information handled through the site, its contact form and its email address. It does not cover the independent practices of external providers and websites, including Cloudflare and Amazon, which have their own privacy notices. This policy should be read with our Terms and Disclosure.
Information we handle
The kinds of information involved depend on how you use the site.
Information you send us
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. If you email [email protected], we receive your email address, your message and anything else you include, such as your name or attachments, along with ordinary email header information. The contact form invites details such as your skin or hair type, your budget, the products you have tried, product suggestions, page addresses and corrections. Please share only what is useful. Please do not send health records, photographs of medical conditions, payment details, government identification numbers or other sensitive information. If you mention a health matter or allergy on your own initiative, we will treat it as part of your message, and you can ask us to delete it.
Information processed automatically
When you visit the site, your browser sends standard request data to Cloudflare, which hosts the site. That data can include your IP address, the page requested, your browser and device type, the referring page and the date and time of the request. Cloudflare processes this data to serve and protect the site. When you use the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks your submission for bots and processes browser and device signals to do so. The site itself keeps no database of messages, user accounts or visitor profiles.
Information received from others
We do not buy personal information or obtain it from data brokers. We may receive limited information from others in a few ordinary ways. Cloudflare tells the site whether a Turnstile check passed, and it delivers form submissions and forwarded email. Amazon provides Associates reporting about activity connected with the site’s links, and we do not receive your Amazon account details or payment information through those links. Another person may also mention you in a message they send us.
Cookies and local storage
The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The site stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage, so that your preference can be remembered on your device. Cloudflare Turnstile may use browser signals on the contact form. Amazon may set cookies when you follow an affiliate link, which are governed by Amazon’s own notice. You can read about your browser controls in the rights and choices section below.
Legal bases for processing
The site is written for readers in the United States, where many privacy laws do not ask websites to name a legal basis. This section is included for readers in places where that concept applies, and it is not a statement that any particular law governs the site. Where a legal basis is required, the processing described here is based on our interest in reading and answering the messages you choose to send and in keeping the site available and secure. We may also process information where needed to meet a legal obligation or to establish or defend legal claims. The site does not ask you for marketing consent, and it does not form a sales or subscription contract with you.
How we use information
We use the information described in this policy only for the following purposes.
- We use messages to read and respond to your question, suggestion or correction.
- We use messages and corrections to check facts and improve the site’s content, without publishing your contact details unless you give permission.
- We use request data and Turnstile checks, through Cloudflare, to deliver the site, keep it working and protect it from spam, bots and abuse.
- We use your stored theme choice to display the site in the theme you selected.
- We use Amazon’s Associates reporting to understand commission activity connected with the site’s links.
- We may use information where necessary to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety and property.
We do not use your contact details to send marketing, because the site has no newsletter or email list. We do not build advertising profiles or sell access to our readers.
Analytics and advertising
The Beauty Sensation does not use an analytics or traffic measurement service. The old site’s Universal Analytics tag stopped collecting when Google retired it, and it was not carried over to the current site. The site does not run display advertising, and it does not use advertising cookies of its own. The site has no ad networks, retargeting tools or cross-site advertising trackers of its own. Amazon’s affiliate links are the only commercial links on the site, and they are covered in the third-party services and external websites sections of this policy. The site has no tracking of its own for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off, so we have not built a separate response to those signals.
Sharing and legal disclosures
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information is shared only in the following limited circumstances.
- Cloudflare processes request data, Turnstile signals, contact form submissions and forwarded email to provide its services.
- The email service that hosts the owner’s private inbox stores and processes the messages delivered to that inbox.
- We may disclose information if we believe the law, a court order or a valid legal request requires it.
- We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety or property of readers, the site or others.
- We may transfer information held in connection with the site as part of a sale, transfer or reorganization of the site, subject to applicable law.
When you follow an Amazon link, your browser connects directly to Amazon, and that is your own interaction with Amazon rather than a transfer of your message data from us.
Third-party services
The site relies on the services below, each of which plays a specific role.
- Cloudflare hosting and Workers serve the site and process request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks contact form submissions for bots and processes browser and device signals to do so.
- A Cloudflare Worker delivers contact form messages to the owner’s private inbox.
- Cloudflare Email Routing forwards mail sent to [email protected] to the owner’s private inbox.
- The Amazon Associates Program provides the affiliate links in product roundups and reviews, and it attributes qualifying purchases.
Cloudflare’s handling of information is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy. Amazon’s handling of information is described in the Amazon privacy notice. Those companies decide many aspects of how they run their own services, so we cannot speak for all of their practices.
Your rights and choices
You have practical choices that do not depend on where you live.
- You can read the site without giving us your name or contact details.
- You can use your browser settings to clear site data, which removes your saved theme choice.
- You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, including cookies Amazon sets, though blocking them may affect how other sites work.
- You can email us directly instead of using the form, if you prefer not to complete a Turnstile check.
- You can buy a product without following our links by going straight to any retailer.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to or restrict certain uses of it. Even if those laws do not apply to you, you are welcome to ask us what we hold from your messages and to ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, email [email protected] and describe what you are asking for. There is no automated procedure, and the owner handles requests by hand. We may ask you to write from the email address you used, or to confirm a few details, so that we can check the request is really yours. We will ask only for what we reasonably need for that purpose. If another person is acting for you, we may ask for proof of their authority. We may decline or limit a request where the law allows, such as when we cannot verify it or need to keep information to meet a legal duty. We cannot act on data held independently by Cloudflare, Amazon or another provider, so please contact them directly for those requests.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS through Cloudflare. Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect the contact form from bots and abuse. The site has no user accounts and does not store personal data in a site database, which limits what the site itself holds. No website, email system or internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email in particular may pass through several systems, so please keep sensitive information out of your messages.
Retention
The site has no database of messages, so contact form messages and emails are kept only in the owner’s private inbox. We have not set a fixed retention period, and messages remain in that inbox until they are deleted. You can ask us to delete your messages by using the request route described in this policy. In deciding whether to keep a message, we may consider whether it is still needed to answer you, to act on a correction, to deal with abuse or to meet a legal duty. Your theme choice stays in your browser until you or your browser clears it. Cloudflare and Amazon keep information for periods set under their own policies, and we do not control those periods.
Audience and children
The site is aimed at adult beauty shoppers in the United States. The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The contact form and email address are not intended for children under 13. Our Halloween and costume makeup articles are written for adults, including adults who may be helping a child. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, please email [email protected] so we can delete it.
Where information is processed
The owner’s location is not published on the site. Cloudflare operates a global network, so request data and messages may be processed outside your state or country. Amazon’s processing is described in its own notice. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information may be handled in a country with different privacy laws from your own. We do not claim that any particular cross-border transfer safeguard applies.
External websites
The site links to external websites, including Amazon, that we do not own or control. If you follow one of those links, you leave this site, and the other website’s privacy notice applies. Amazon may use cookies or similar technologies to record the visit and attribute qualifying purchases. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of external websites. Please review their notices before giving them any information.
California privacy information
This section applies only if and to the extent California privacy law applies to the site, and we do not assert that it covers every visitor or that the site meets every threshold in that law. Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information. They may also have rights to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and not to be retaliated against for using their rights. The categories we may handle are identifiers such as your name, email address and IP address, the contents of messages you send, and internet activity such as request data and browser signals. Those categories come from you, your device and the providers named in this policy, and they are used for the purposes described in this policy. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use any sensitive personal information you choose to send, except to handle your message or request. California residents can use the request route in this policy, and an authorized agent can do the same with proof of authority. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Nevada and other jurisdictions
Nevada residents may have the right to direct certain website operators not to sell covered information. We do not sell covered information as we understand that law, but Nevada residents can email us at the address on this page with any such request. Other United States states have privacy laws that may apply to some websites depending on their size and activities. If you live in one of those states, or in a place with its own privacy law, such as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have the rights your local law gives you. We do not claim that any one of these laws applies to the site. Where a local law does apply, you can use the same request route, and you may also have a right to appeal a decision or to complain to a regulator.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the site’s practices change, and we will revise the date at the top. We do not have accounts or an email list, so updating this page is how we will normally give notice of a change, unless the law requires another form of notice. Please check this page from time to time.
Contact and complaints
Privacy questions, requests and complaints can be sent to [email protected]. Mail to that address is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the site owner’s private inbox and handled by the owner. You can also use the form on the site’s Contact page, which a Cloudflare Worker sends to the same inbox. We do not promise a particular response time. If you are not satisfied, you may be able to complain to your state attorney general, the Federal Trade Commission or your local data protection authority.
