Terms
Last updated: November 1, 2026.
These terms explain the rules for using thebeautysensation.com, including its articles, tutorials, product roundups, reviews, guides and Contact page. Please read them together with our Disclosure and Privacy Policy.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. In these terms, we, us and our refer to the owner and operator of The Beauty Sensation. The Beauty Sensation parties means the site’s owners and operators, together with its contributors, which includes any writers, editors and other people or service providers who help create or run the site. The site means thebeautysensation.com and the content and features available on it. These terms work alongside two other pages. The Privacy Policy describes how information is handled, and the Disclosure describes how the site earns money and how its content is researched. If those pages and these terms appear to conflict, the Privacy Policy controls questions about personal information, the Disclosure controls descriptions of commercial relationships, and these terms control everything else about your use of the site. The site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
What The Beauty Sensation is
The Beauty Sensation is a free, informational website offering budget-minded beauty help for everyday readers in the United States. It covers makeup looks, tutorials and product picks, including Halloween and costume makeup and makeup brushes and tools. It also covers non-prescription skincare and Korean beauty, women’s hair care and styling, and nail care, from drugstore to splurge. The site is a publication, not a store, salon, clinic, pharmacy or manufacturer. We do not sell products, take payments, offer user accounts, run comments or provide a newsletter. We do not prepare, supply, ship, inspect or guarantee any product mentioned on the site. Product roundups, reviews and guides are research summaries of product listings, ingredient lists, brand information, public safety guidance and buyer reviews. Products are not tested hands-on or in a lab, as the Disclosure explains in more detail. We may add, change, move, suspend or remove any content or feature at any time, without notice. We do not promise that the site, any page or the contact form will always be available. The site may be interrupted by maintenance, service provider outages, technical faults or other causes.
Permitted use and misuse
You may read the site, share links to its pages and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree to use the site lawfully and in a way that does not harm the site, its readers or the Beauty Sensation parties. You agree not to do any of the following.
- You may not use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law or infringes anyone’s rights.
- You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its hosting, its systems or the owner’s private inbox.
- You may not probe, overload, disrupt or interfere with the site or the services that deliver and protect it.
- You may not bypass or attempt to bypass Cloudflare Turnstile or any other security or anti-abuse measure.
- You may not introduce malware, harmful code or automated traffic intended to degrade the site.
- You may not send spam, threats, harassment, fraudulent messages or unlawful material through the contact form or by email.
- You may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection to a person, brand or organization when contacting us.
- You may not scrape, harvest or bulk-copy the site’s content or use it to build a competing dataset or publication without written permission.
- You may not frame the site, or present its content in a way that suggests we endorse or are connected with you, without written permission.
- You may not tamper with affiliate links or generate artificial clicks or purchases through them.
Intellectual property and infringement inquiries
The site’s text, graphics, images, generated portraits, layout, logo and name belong to The Beauty Sensation, its licensors or their respective owners, and they may be protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Except for the personal use described above, you may not copy, republish, sell, license, adapt or distribute the site’s content without written permission. You may quote a short passage with a link back to the source page, as long as the use is lawful and does not suggest endorsement. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law, such as fair use. Product names, brand names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Mentioning them does not imply that those owners sponsor, endorse or are connected with the site. If you believe content on the site infringes your rights, please email hello@thebeautysensation.com. Please identify the work, give the address of the page involved, explain the basis of your claim and include a way to reach you. We will review good-faith inquiries, but sending one does not guarantee a particular outcome, and this page does not identify a registered copyright agent. Please be accurate, because knowingly false claims of infringement can carry legal consequences.
Messages and submissions
The site has no comments, forums, reviews by readers, accounts or other public user-content features. The only ways to send us something are the contact form and email to hello@thebeautysensation.com. Readers can use those routes to ask a beauty question, suggest a product or report a correction. By sending a message, you confirm that you have the right to share its contents and that it is not unlawful, misleading or harmful. You keep whatever rights you have in your message. You also give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to use its contents to reply, check facts, make corrections and improve the site, without any duty to pay or credit you. We will not publish your personal contact details without your permission. A product suggestion does not guarantee coverage, and a question does not guarantee a reply. A reply is general information only and is subject to the same limits as the rest of the site, even if it responds to details you shared about your skin, hair or nails. Please do not send health records, photographs of medical conditions, payment details or other sensitive information. The Privacy Policy explains how messages are handled.
No professional advice and product safety
The Beauty Sensation provides general beauty information, and nothing on the site is medical, dermatological, pharmaceutical, cosmetology or other professional advice. The site does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. Skin, scalp and nail conditions belong with a dermatologist or doctor. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before relying on any statement about whether a product is suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or alongside a medication or health condition. You are responsible for deciding whether a product, ingredient, technique or tool is suitable for you. Always read and follow the manufacturer’s current directions and warnings. The product’s label and instructions take priority over anything written on this site. General information cannot account for your skin, allergies, health, eyes, hair history or home setup. The following risks deserve particular attention.
- Any cosmetic, skincare, hair or nail product can cause irritation or an allergic reaction, so patch test where appropriate and stop using a product that irritates.
- Skin-whitening and lightening products, especially imported ones, can contain ingredients such as mercury or hydroquinone, so check labels and FDA warnings before use.
- Special effects and costume makeup can involve adhesives, latex, prosthetics and face paints that can irritate skin and eyes, so use products made for skin and remove them gently.
- Makeup used near the eyes, including glitter and lash products, can injure or infect the eyes.
- Hair dyes, perms and other chemical hair treatments can burn the scalp or damage hair, so follow the product’s directions and do the strand tests it calls for.
- Nail products such as acetone removers, gels and UV or LED curing lamps carry fire, irritation and UV exposure risks.
- Heated styling tools and other beauty equipment can cause burns, damage hair and create a fire risk if they are misused or left unattended.
- Homemade cleaners and DIY products, such as vinegar or oil brush cleaners and DIY setting sprays, are not tested formulas and may irritate skin or damage tools.
If you apply a product, costume makeup or face paint to another person, including a child, you are responsible for checking its suitability, allergies, directions and supervision needs. Stop using a product and get medical advice if you have a reaction that is severe, lasting or worrying. Get urgent medical help for symptoms such as trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, a chemical burn, severe eye pain or a change in vision. In the United States, call 911 in an emergency, and call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 if a product is swallowed or gets into the eyes and you need guidance. A licensed professional is often the safer choice for chemical hair services and other treatments you are unsure about.
Editorial personas and generated portraits
Articles on The Beauty Sensation are bylined Stephanie Walsh, who is the site’s editorial persona and not a real individual. Her portrait is a generated image and does not depict a real person or reviewer. The details in her biography, including her age, hometown, family, shopping habits, years of makeup experience and volunteer stories, are part of that persona. A persona’s background is not a credential, a qualification, or evidence for any recommendation. First-person statements in a biography or article are an editorial voice, and they are not a report that a real person used a product or got a particular result. Stephanie Walsh is not a dermatologist, doctor, pharmacist, cosmetologist, makeup artist or other licensed expert, and nothing on the site should be read as if she were. The site published its earlier articles on WordPress from 2020 to 2021. Those articles keep their original text and publication dates after the move, and they now carry the current byline. A byline on any article therefore identifies the site’s editorial voice rather than the person who originally wrote it. Please judge content by the sources, labels and directions you can check for yourself.
Third-party links, products and content
The site links to websites, products and services that we do not own or control, including Amazon. Third-party sites have their own terms, privacy practices, prices, policies and safety information. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or conduct. A link is not a guarantee or an endorsement of a third party’s entire business. Any purchase you make is between you and the seller, and the seller and manufacturer are responsible for the product, its labeling, its shipping and its warranty, as the law provides. We do not handle returns, refunds, recalls, warranty claims or product complaints. Please raise those issues with the retailer, seller or manufacturer. Buyer reviews, product listings and brand claims summarized on the site come from third parties, and we cannot verify all of them. Product formulas, ingredients, shades, sizes, prices and availability can change without notice, so please check the current label and listing before you buy.
Affiliate and commercial relationships
The Beauty Sensation participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Some links in product roundups and reviews are Amazon affiliate links, and the site earns from qualifying purchases made through them. This comes at no extra cost to you. The site has no sponsored posts, paid placements, display advertising or other affiliate programs. The Disclosure gives the full explanation, including how this affects the way you should read our recommendations.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the site, use the contact form, email us or follow an Amazon link. That policy is a description of our practices, and you should read it alongside these terms.
Warranty disclaimers
The site and all of its content are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Beauty Sensation parties disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory. Those disclaimed warranties include implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and quiet enjoyment. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any content is complete, current or suitable for you. We do not warrant that any product will be safe for you, work as described, suit your skin or hair, remain available or stay at a particular price. We do not warrant any third party’s product, listing, review or service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be disclaimed, so some of these disclaimers may not apply to you. This section does not remove any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded, and it does not affect any warranty a seller or manufacturer gives you.
Limitation of liability
This section protects the site’s owners, operators and contributors to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. To that extent, the Beauty Sensation parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages arising from or relating to the site. To the same extent, they will not be liable for any loss of profits, savings, data, goodwill or opportunity arising from or relating to the site. This applies to losses connected with your use of or inability to use the site, your reliance on its content, and any error, omission or outdated statement. It also applies, to the same extent, to losses connected with any product, retailer, seller, third-party site, purchase, technique, tool or DIY recipe you choose to try after reading the site. Those losses can include allergic reactions, skin, scalp, nail or eye injuries, hair damage, burns and damage to property. The limits in this section apply whatever the legal theory, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or statute, and even if the possibility of loss was known. We provide the site free of charge as general information, and these limits are part of the basis on which it is offered.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Depending on where you live, that can include liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury or violations of law, along with non-waivable consumer rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits on liability, so some of the limits above may not apply to you. Where a limit does apply, it applies only to the extent the law allows. We do not claim that the site’s owners, operators or contributors are immune from legal claims, and we do not claim that every provision in these terms will be enforced in every place.
Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Beauty Sensation parties against third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs, including reasonable legal fees, that result from certain conduct of yours. That conduct is your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, your violation of law or another person’s rights, or material you send us without the right to do so. This section applies only to the extent your own conduct caused the claim. It does not require you to cover losses caused by our own fraud or willful misconduct, or anything else the law does not allow to be shifted to you. It does not take away any non-waivable right you have as a consumer.
Restriction or termination of access
The site has no accounts to suspend, but we may still limit access to it. We may restrict, block or end access to all or part of the site, or stop responding to messages, if we reasonably believe someone has broken these terms or poses a risk to the site, its readers or others. Cloudflare’s security tools may also block or challenge traffic that looks automated or abusive. We may stop operating the site, or any part of it, at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue will survive after your access ends, including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification and other general terms.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms do not currently select a governing law, court or venue. Any legal question about these terms or the site will be decided under whichever law and in whichever forum properly apply. Nothing in these terms removes any mandatory protection given to you by the law where you live.
Disputes
These terms do not require arbitration, and they do not contain a class action waiver or a mandatory dispute procedure. If you have a concern about the site, you are welcome to email hello@thebeautysensation.com so we can try to resolve it informally. That invitation is not a condition of bringing any claim, and it does not limit any right or remedy you have under the law.
Severability
If a court or other competent authority finds any part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only as far as necessary. The rest of these terms will stay in effect. Where possible, the affected part will be read in a lawful way that comes closest to its original purpose.
Waiver
If we do not enforce a part of these terms, that does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later. A waiver of any part of these terms is effective only if we make it in writing.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of the site. They replace earlier versions of these terms and any earlier understandings on that subject. They do not replace mandatory protections that apply to you under the law, and they do not change your separate agreements with Amazon, a seller or any other third party.
Assignment
We may transfer or assign these terms and the related rights and duties, including if the site is sold, transferred or reorganized. You may not assign your rights or duties under these terms without our written permission, except where the law says you may. Any such transfer remains subject to rights that the law does not allow to be changed by assignment.
Events outside our reasonable control
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control. Those events can include outages at Cloudflare or other service providers, internet or power failures, cyberattacks, natural disasters, public emergencies, government action or changes made by third parties such as Amazon. This section does not affect any right that cannot legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the site, its services or the law. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version was last revised. We do not have accounts or an email list, so we will generally give notice of a change by updating this page, unless the law requires another form of notice. A revised version applies from the date shown, and it does not change the terms that applied to events that happened before that date, unless the law allows. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the revised terms, and if you do not agree, please stop using the site. Please check this page from time to time.
Contact
You can send questions about these terms to hello@thebeautysensation.com, which is forwarded to the site owner’s private inbox. You can also use the form on the site’s Contact page. We do not promise a particular response time or a reply to every message. The site does not publish a street address, telephone number or company name.
